Privacy Policy

MySavingsCircle helps groups of people run savings circles: tracking who pays, who receives, and when. This policy explains what information we collect to do that, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, password (stored securely as a one-way hash, never in plain text), phone number and country.
• Circle information: the circles you create or join, contribution amounts, payout order, payment dates, updates posted to a circle, and invitations you send or receive.
• Payment records: the payment proofs you upload (such as transfer screenshots) and whether each payment was confirmed or marked as not received.
• Bank details: when it's your turn to receive, the bank name, account holder, IBAN and account number you enter so members can pay you. If you choose "save for later", we also keep a copy on your profile.
• Preferences: your notification settings and profile picture, if you add one.

We do not process payments ourselves. Money moves directly between members through their own banks; we only keep a record of it.

How we use your information

• To run your circles: building the payout schedule, showing members what's due and where to pay, and recording confirmations.
• To send you invitations, reminders, payment updates and (if you opt in) weekly summaries, by email and in the app.
• To keep your account secure, including password resets and preventing misuse.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Who can see your information

• Members of your circles can see your name, your place in the payout order, and your payment status in that circle.
• Bank details you enter for a payout are shown to the members of that circle so they can send you money.
• Payment proofs are shown to the member receiving that month's payout.
• Service providers who help us run MySavingsCircle, such as our hosting provider and our email delivery provider (Resend), process data only on our behalf.

We may also share information if required by law.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and to protect forms from forgery. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Circle and payment records are kept for the life of the circle so every member has an accurate history. You can delete your saved bank details from your profile at any time.

Your choices and rights

• Update your profile details and notification settings at any time from your profile.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it.

Deleting your account may not remove records other members rely on, such as payments you made in a shared circle.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections and hashed passwords, and limit who can access it. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
